CMI Workshops presents: Microfinance 101
When: September 30, 2009

Does poverty have to exist? Come learn how to help people help themselves escape from poverty with Microfinance!
Topics addressed will include: Who is eligible for loans? How does the loan repayment system actually work? How big are the loans? And where do they come from? What is the impact of microfinance on the larger community?
Even though this is Microfinance 101, there is something for everyone no matter what your level! Michael Chasnow worked at the Centre for Microfinance as a consultant within research and communications for a year in Chenai, India. Michael’s work was centered around 1) long-term impact evaluations of different microfinance products’ (e.g., health insurance, different repayment schedules, savings) impact on clients, and 2) policy-oriented research to help guide future Indian policy within the financial inclusion space. He is currently an MBA student at the Kenan-Flagler Business School.
